How Australian businesses, government and research organisations can unlock the intellectual property built within our leading industries.

About this Event
Australia’s economic dependence on our primary industries is well known. So too are our comparatively poor rates of locally commercialising the research developed within our local sectors. Whilst our challenges are well documented 2020 has the potential to kickstart an era of real change.

COVID-19 has demonstrated that there is a demand in the market for Australian innovation to be commercialised and made available for use across multiple industry sectors.

This webinar will explore how Australian businesses, government and research organisations can identify and unlock the intellectual property built within our leading industries to help set the path towards a brighter more competitive future.

The webinar will take place at 1pm, Friday, 6 November 2020 and will broker a discussion about how industry, research and government can take practical and pragmatic steps to develop more research-intense products and exports for global markets.

Our expert panel include:

  • Larry Marshall Chief Executive at CSIRO
  • Adrian Beer, CEO of METS Ignited Australia
  • Sally-Ann Williams, CEO of Cicada Innovations
  • Sharna Glover, Non-Executive Director of Robotics Australia .

The discussion will be moderated by InnovationAus Editorial Director, James Riley.

The webinar will discuss the importance of building a technology industry in Australia as part of the commercialisation and productisation process. It will explore our cross industry opportunities and the magic when we translate ideas to apply to different vertical sectors. Manufacturing has been identified as a key area of focus – how is our manufacturing sector changing to meet our industry development ambitions?
