Merging galaxy groups and clusters in the Shapley Supercluster

One of the nation’s most sensitive radio telescopes, ASKAP (owned and operated by Australia’s national science agency, CSIRO), has recently been used to observe radio emissions in perhaps the largest known gravitationally-bound structure in the Universe, once again proving the importance of the technologies that will be used by the SKA over the next decade or so.
