Plastics Innovation Hub Indonesia Launch
Indonesia’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology and Australia’s national science agency, the CSIRO are joining together to launch the Plastics Innovation Hub Indonesia (the Hub), to achieve systemic change and transform plastic pollution in Indonesia and the wider region.
Innovators, researchers, industry, government and NGO representatives, investors and development partners are invited to attend the virtual launch of the Hub. Hear from key experts, policy makers and innovators making waves in the field of reducing plastic waste and find out how you can become a part of a ground-breaking initiative in the Indo-Pacific.
In February 2020, the President of Indonesia and Prime Minister of Australia formally committed to address marine plastics as a key bilateral issue through the creation of a Plastics Innovation Hub. Following a comprehensive co-design process to identify key challenges, the Hub is launching to deliver a deep-tech innovation program to design, develop, and scale highly impactful solutions to address plastic waste.
The Hub will provide a vehicle for collaboration and a testbed for innovation, bringing together local communities and governments, businesses, and investors with trusted scientific expertise to undertake action-based projects, producing information, tools, technologies and processes for real-world change.
The launch brings together key players from across the innovation ecosystem and the globe. Hear from keynote speaker Ibu Tuti Hadiputranto as Chair of Indonesia’s National Plastics Action Partnership, catch a pitch series showcasing emerging solutions, and listen to our expert panellists as they set the scene for the revolutionary work the Hub has in store.
We’ll also explore seed-funding opportunities and discuss what the Hub program will include and ways you can engage.
