Australian scientists’ leading research recognised with Academy awards
Two of our scientists have been recognised in The Australian Academy of Science awards, which celebrate outstanding contributions to the advancement of science.
Liz Dennis has been awarded the Ruby Payne-Scott Medal and Lecture. Liz’s research in plant genetics has contributed to food security around the world by creating high yielding crops.
Keith Bannister has been awarded the Pawsey Medal. Keith’s research on the detection of fast radio bursts has opened up a new field of study in radio astronomy and enabled measurements of the Universe’s missing matter – solving one of astronomy’s biggest questions.
