Sedimentology-focussed basin-hosted mineral system interest group meeting

CSIRO is inviting you to the second sedimentology-focussed basin-hosted mineral system interest group meeting on October 21st, 2022, at the Carlisle Core Library.

For this meeting, attendees will be looking at shallow to deep water sedimentary series from the Neoproterozoic interval of the Yeneena Basin drill core EPT2300. This meeting aims at gathering geologists who share a common interest in basin-hosted mineral systems. It will also allow for people working in different part of the mineral industry, from mining companies to government bodies and academia, to express their opinions and discuss sedimentary records: from sedimentary structures and stratigraphic evolution to their implications for mineral exploration.

Unlike any traditional core workshop, Dr Vincent Crombez (CSIRO, Mineral Resources), Dr Susanne Schmid (CSIRO, Mineral Resources) will only be present to guide the attendees in their observation of the core and facilitate discussions. The event will run from 1:00pm to 3:30pm at the core library and will be followed by networking drinks at the Balmoral hotel from 4:00pm.
