Scientists uncover safe method to incinerate PFAS

An international team of scientists has successfully decoded how per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) can be safely incinerated, marking a breakthrough in the management of these persistent pollutants. The study, led by Australia’s national science agency CSIRO, traced the entire chain of chemical reactions involved in PFAS combustion for the first time.
