CSIRO voyage discovers new species of shark and crabs off West Australia’s Gascoyne coast
After years of work, the CSIRO has officially confirmed the discovery a glowing shark and two armour-less crab species.
A deep-sea voyage undertaken by CSIRO’s RV Investigators mapped the ocean of the Gascoyne Marine Park in 2022.
The 40-centimetre-long glowing lantern shark and the porcelain crab species are among 22 new organisms discovered on the journey.
