Could your project build Australia’s research industry workforce?

January 25th, 2024

Applications are now open for projects to be part of the CSIRO Industry PhD program in 2024.

The CSIRO Industry PhD program (iPhD) is part of an Australian Government initiative to better translate university research into commercial outcomes. The program brings together an industry partner, a university researcher and a CSIRO researcher to co-develop a project that will run for four years.

Project funding includes a full annual student scholarship (approximately $47,000 for 2025), project operating expenses ($13,000 per annum), and funds for additional student training.

Industry partners are required to fund a top-up scholarship for the student of approximately $12,000 each year.

Projects must:

  • align with CSIRO and Government priorities
  • address an industry problem while complying with the university’s requirements of a PhD program
  • be with an Australian industry partner
  • include at least 60 workdays of project related activities under the guidance of the industry partner.

Find out more about becoming a partner by registering for the upcoming iPhD information webinar on the 7th February, or reach out to the iPhD team if you are ready to start the conversation.
