CSIRO Alumni events
Create an event
We encourage you to set up your own events, to help connect alumni with each other.
If you are running an event, speaking at a conference or attending a presentation you think would be of interest to other members, we encourage you get in touch.
Please email alumni@csiro.au with the details of the event and we will list it on our alumni calendar and promote it across our network.
Speaking at events
If you are interested in being a presenter or a panellist at an alumni or CSIRO event please let us know and we’ll keep you in mind if opportunities arise. If you are speaking at an event and would like to invite other alumni members to attend, we can promote the event through our community. Please let us know all the details and we can list it on our calendar.
CSIRO Alumni Physics Scholarship
The CSIRO Alumni Scholarship in Physics aims to connect the brightest young physicists or mathematicians to a leading research centre overseas or in Australia. Read about the history of this important scholarship, our previous winners and how you can contribute and support the next generation of scientists.
Sir Alan Walsh lecture
The lecture series commemorates the achievements of Sir Alan Walsh who invented a chemical measurement technology called Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS) that revolutionised quantitative analysis.
The Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering (ATSE), CSIRO (including CSIRO Alumni), and the Australian Institute of Physics (AIP) started the prestigious invited lecture series on the 60th anniversary of Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS).
Sir Robert Price lecture
Sir Robert Price was a great organiser and project developer with the ability to make wide and useful contacts with influential people in associated fields. He made a significant contribution to the growth and development of chemistry in Australia, and to the development of public sector research. He was a great organic chemist and a great man.
In 1990 the CSIRO Division of Chemicals and Polymers (later CSIRO Molecular Science) instituted a named lecture series in tribute to Jerry’s influence on organic chemistry in CSIRO. These lectures bring industry, CSIRO and University scientists together.
