A Plastic Free July: from deep space to deep sea
An Indo-Pacific Oceans Initiative-led regional event
Join us for a free webinar to mark Plastic Free July.
We’ll be showcasing innovative and inspiring initiatives to reduce plastic pollution. This includes hearing from leading researchers from Australia, the Indo-Pacific and the USA, and how countries are tackling plastic waste through a range of solutions.
Speakers include the founder of Plastic Free July, Rebecca Prince-Ruiz, who will share more about the movement and its impact on reducing plastic waste. We’ll also learn more about detecting and managing plastics from space and in the deep-sea, and what came out of the East Asia Summit Marine Plastic Debris Workshop.
This event is an Indo-Pacific Oceans Initiative-led regional event co-hosted by the Indian National Centre for Coastal Research, the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology and is part of CSIRO’s Ending Plastic Waste Mission, which has a goal of an 80 per cent reduction in plastic waste entering the environment by 2030 and the Indo-Pacific Plastics Innovation Network.
