AI for health and social good

May 7 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Presented by the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering (ATSE)

AI and data science are increasingly part of our everyday lives, but as we are seeing through social media and online misinformation campaigns, they can exaggerate society’s existing biases, prejudices and reinforce inequities.

So how can AI be used to positively impact the world?

The Victorian ATSE Division Monthly Seminar for May will explore the opportunities for AI and data science to enable more data-informed decision making, and discuss its impacts on clinical practice, health policy and wider social equality and equity outcomes.

Hear from Professor Joanna Batstone FTSE and Professor Karin Verspoor as they explore how AI and data science are being used to support insights into health policy, research and clinical practice and wider social equality and equity outcomes.

This seminar will be moderated by Professor Wendy Chapman FTSE, Director of the Centre for Digital Transformation of Health, University of Melbourne.
