ALA: Transforming Australia’s biological collections to open data

February 20 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Join the Atlas of Living Australia (ALA) for our first webinar of 2024 showcasing a selection of amazing projects from the Australian Biodiversity Data Mobilisation Program. This important initiative supports the mobilisation of Australia’s biodiversity data which may not yet be digital, making it available through the ALA, and internationally to the Global Biodiversity Information Facility. By improving digital access, the program delivers stronger research and conservation outcomes for Australia’s unique biodiversity.

In this free event, you’ll hear from three projects supported through the program. Learn about the transformative power of biodiversity data, and how previously inaccessible physical specimens in biological collections can be made available as open data.

This event will be recorded and the recording made available through ALA channels in the subsequent week after the event.

The ALA receives support from the Australian Government through the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) and is hosted by CSIRO.
