Celebrate the 75th anniversary of Australia’s first computer
We would like to invite you to join us to celebrate
- the 75th anniversary of Australia’s first stored-program computer, CSIR Mk1 (later CSIRAC), which ran its first program in November 1949 and
- the 60th anniversary of the commencement of the computing service and network in 1964 (which became Csironet).
There will be a tour of the former Csironet building, followed by presentations in the Discovery Theatre. There will also be a Pioneers lunch offsite for those interested and a tour of Peter Hewseton’s computing artefacts.
Parking is available on North Science Rd, next to the public entrance of the Discovery Centre.
