How might the Hunter region transition to net zero emissions?

CSIRO, Fulbright Australia and The University of Newcastle will convene an expert panel to consider the necessary steps, featuring:

  • Engineer/entrepreneur/inventor Dr Saul Griffith proposing a compellingly simple formula for the Australian energy transition
  • Energy economist Dr Jenny Hayward considering the cost of available technology options
  • Consumer representative Brian Spak outlining how Australian consumers decide and how well they are informed
  • Local government voice Catherine Pepper speaking about multi-stakeholder collaboration in a Hunter Region community
  • State government representative Adam Clarke describing evolving higher-level policy initiatives in New South Wales and Australia.
