PANDEMIC TO ENDEMIC – BEYOND THE JAB

13 September 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

CEDA’s Pandemic to endemic series gathers leading thinkers to debate how we best balance elimination and suppression strategies and transitioning Australia from pandemic to endemic.

Speakers

Laureate Professor Peter Doherty AC
Professor Raina MacIntyre, Head, Biosecurity Research Program, Kirby Institute, UNSW
Melinda Cilento, Chief Executive, CEDA

Event Overview

To date Australia has managed the global pandemic through non-health interventions – primarily international and state border closures, quarantine and social distancing measures.

The future interplay between vaccinations, the role of therapeutics and other pharmaceuticals and non-drug interventions must be a conscious choice as to how we choose to progress and live with COVID-19. The important choices before us and how Australia moves forward has measurable and significant implications beyond policy and government spending – how and where we live, work and play, the health of individuals and communities and when Australia might open to the world.

So – how do we get it right?

To debate how we best manage the balancing act ahead of us at a critical moment in time join CEDA’s audience and those already considering our transition from pandemic to endemic.
