This November Startup Vic is excited to partner with One Roof to support startups led by women founders.

It’s time for HerStartup!

Building a business can change your life, and the lives of others, but it’s an incredibly challenging journey. Some challenges are universal, but for women founders, there are cultural and economic barriers unique to her experience.

Globally, venture investment is at a record high but the share of funding going to women-led companies is falling. For the first eight months of 2021, just 2.2% of all venture funding went to companies with solely women founders. Locally, over the last four years startups founded by women secured 4% of funding and generally banked less than those founded by men.

The need to support women entrepreneurs is not a new conversation, but it is one we need to keep having. Momentum is growing to make Australia one of the best places for women entrepreneurs to succeed.
