Diversity is critical in tech. It allows companies to create safer and superior products through a holistic lens that considers everyone’s needs, not just one section of society. McKinsey found that diverse companies hire stronger talent, perform better, have more engaged employees and retain workers longer than companies that do not focus on diversity and inclusion. Despite this, women are still widely underrepresented in the tech industry and there is a long way to go to change the workplace culture, pay, employment, founder, and retention gaps.
