Strategic roadmap for the growth of Australia’s non-animal model capabilities in preclinical development
You are invited to attend a webinar hosted by the CSIRO Futures team to inform the development of a strategic roadmap for the growth of Australia’s non-animal model capabilities in preclinical development.
There is a global shift to reduce reliance on animal models in applied research. While the benefits of non-animal models (e.g. ex-vivo and in vitro) have been shown at lab-scale, the commercial application of these models is still nascent globally.
Through discussions with governments, industry and research, CSIRO has scoped a potential piece of strategic and economic analysis that seeks to better understand the value of emerging non-animal models and where Australia could contribute to global offerings.
This webinar will include two presentations before a Q&A session:
- Dr Kim Fung, Principal Research Scientist, CSIRO Health and Biosecurity – An introduction to the value of non-animal models for preclinical research
- Greg Williams, Health and Biosecurity Lead, CSIRO Futures – An overview of the proposed project scope and sponsorship option
CSIRO is inviting government, industry and research stakeholders to sponsor this project, which will ensure your organisation gets an important seat at the table when it comes to scoping, consultation, and review. CSIRO will scope the roadmap to ensure it is relevant and useful to the people that need to make informed investment and other strategic decisions based on the information in the roadmap.
