Parkes radio telescope, aka the Dish, celebrates 60 years of scientific discoveries

Sixty years on from its construction the Parkes Radio Telescope is set to play a crucial role in the next mission to the Moon. Celebrations are underway for the 60th anniversary of what is one of the world’s most iconic pieces of technology, the Parkes Radio Telescope The CSIRO will unveil a plaque to mark the telescope being placed on the National Heritage list From next year. The Dish will begin supporting commercial flights to the solar system.
