UoW team gets US government backing for 3D printing with recycled plastic

A University of Wollongong researcher has been awarded backing from the United States’ National Science Foundation and the CSIRO for a project involving the use of waste plastic for 3D printing home goods on construction sites. Dr Aziz Ahmed, a lecturer in structural engineering, is the project lead on the multi-disciplinary, multi-organisation project, titled “Designing for Circular Economics: Creating Impact from Local Plastic Waste Using Off-Grid Containerized 3D Printers and Practice Based Learning”.
