Vale Jim Barrow
Jim was a colleague at Floreat Park for many years, and before that at the CSIRO labs when they were housed at UWA.
UWA wrote a feature about his life and research highlighting how age was no barrier to his successful research career after publishing 59 research papers, including seven since retiring in 1992. Jim said he preferred research over crosswords because it’s easier, more fun and mentally stimulating. “It’s not very different to art, you might as well ask an artist why they keep painting pictures despite not being paid for their work. It’s just what you do when you’re passionate,” Dr Barrow said.
Adrian Peck has placed a short note in the West Australian Death Notices on behalf of the WA Alumni.
